Southern-Fried Jessica Simpson
Her last pop album “A Public Affair” barely cracked the Billboard Top 20 before quickly falling off the charts, but Jessica Simpson may have just the thing to regain her status as one of America’s most popular singers.
The “With You” songstress has released her first country music single called “Come On Over” from the forth coming album due out in stores this September.
As for why she decided to transition to a different genre, her father/manager Joe Simpson explained, “She’s a singer from top to bottom. And everything in the music business, especially pop music, has moved away from singers. And I think country is the only pure, storytelling kind of genre left.”
In a recent radio station poll, 6,600 people voted on the new song with 58% of the results being positive. Perhaps the former Newlywed is onto something!
