Lauren Conrad’s Nylon Party Night
After making a trip to see her local psychic earlier in the day, Lauren Conrad got all prettied up and headed out for a night of partying in Tinseltown on Thursday (September 4).
The MTV reality starlet ventured over to the Nylon magazine Pre-VMA party in Los Angeles, looking sexy in a sleeveless black belted minidress paired with strappy black heels.
As for the VMAs, LC is going to be one of the night’s presenters, of which she recently told press: “I’m going and I’m presenting and I’m really excited. I just got my dress today.”
When asked if there’s anything about the show in particular that she’s most looking forward to, Conrad replied: ” Michael Jackson! When do you get to see that?”
Beyonce Knowles: Chillin’ at Fashion Rocks
She has a big weekend in New York City ahead of her, and Beyonce Knowles is already taking care of business like the seasoned pro that she is.
The “Irreplaceable” babe was spotted on her way out of Rockefeller Center last night (September 4) after wrapping up her rehearsal for the Fashion Rocks show. She’ll perform at the event that will be taped tonight, and aired on Tuesday, September 9th.
And Beyonce recently told press that all of the pomp and circumstance of being a pop star has become old hat to her. “I’m over being a pop star. I don’t wanna be a hot girl. I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot (and) I feel like I’m highly respected, which is more important than any award or any amount of records. I feel like there comes a point when being a pop star is not enough.”
She also noted that her role as Etta James in the upcoming movie “Cadillac Records” is sure to shock her fans. “I’ve been saying for a long time that I wanted to do something dark. People are going to be very shocked. It’s the complete opposite of me. It was very emotionally draining. I was exhausted.”
Is The New IPhone Worth Getting??
3G technology gives iPhone fast access to the Internet and email over cellular networks around the world. iPhone 3G also makes it possible to do more in more places: Surf the web, download email, get directions, and watch video — even while you’re on a call.
Talk and browse. At the same time.
iPhone already gives you mobile multitasking. But 3G technology lets you multitask in more places — without connecting via Wi-Fi. Since 3G networks enable simultaneous data and voice, you can talk on the phone while surfing the web, checking email, or using Maps. All from your 3G cellular network
Music (continuous playback, large library, occasionally turning on screen): 31h 23m
Video (continuous playback, no push/fetch data): 7h 5m
Video (continuous playback, with push and 15 minute fetch data): 5h 24m
Daily data use (browsing, email, and GPS / maps): ~6h 30m
Katie Holmes: Stage Siren
After her stint on “All My Sons,” Katie Holmes is going to have vocal chords of steel! The “Dawson’s Creek” darling showed up at the Minetta Lane Theatre again this morning for yet another day of rehearsals.
And it looks like Katie is getting back to her monochromatic tendencies, as she was sporting a black leather jacket overtop a graphite grey top with black stretch pants.
In related news, it seems “Eli Stone” star Matt Letscher has been bragging up Holmes’ singing and dancing abilities after she filmed a guest starring appearance for the hit show.
He told press, “She does a song-and-dance number that is the best one we’ve ever done. We’ve done tons of (musical numbers), and she was just phenomenal. She’s the sweetest person in the world, down to earth, simple. She’s just like anybody else. I met her daughter, and her husband (Tom Cruise) was on set. It was great.”
Brad Pitt: On His Way to Toronto
He’s been living it up in France, and just recently took a trip to Venice for their film festival. And now Brad Pitt is on his way to Toronto, Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival.
The “Fight Club” stud looked eager to take off as he arrived at the Marseille Airport in Marseille, France, sporting a beige fedora along with a black leather coat and his trademark sunglasses.
While in Toronto, Pitt will be promoting his new, sure-to-be-awesome film “Burn After Reading,” also starring George Clooney and directed by the Coen brothers.
And for the rest of us who won’t be so fortunate as to be attending the TFF, “Burn After Reading” hits theaters nationwide next Friday, September 12th.
Pussycat Dolls: Steamy at Fashion Rocks
Few female groups can sing and dance with as much sex appeal as the Pussycat Dolls. And last night Nicole Scherzinger and the girls gave a very special performance at the Fashion Rocks pre-party.
The night was full of energy as the PCD troop took the stage, sporting plenty of skin-tight leather, vinyl, and spandex as they sang through their catalog of hits
And just think- they were getting everyone ready for the big Fashion Rocks event set to take place later tonight (though it doesn’t air until Tuesday, September 9th) at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall.
This year’s Fashion Rocks extravaganza promises to be the best one yet, with performances from Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, and Beyonce Knowles.
Paris Hilton: Nylon Party Girl
With all of the hype and hoopla surrounding the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, there’s plenty to do in Tinseltown. And Paris Hilton was spotted out and about last night, enjoying yet another industry party.
The “Hottie and the Nottie” babe sported a retro style grey party dress as she left the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles following the Nylon magazine Pre-VMA shindig. Unfortunately, during the course of the night, Miss Hilton scored a stain on the front of her outfit.
And once all of the VMA excitement has died down, Paris will be heading up to Canada for the Toronto Film Festival premiere of “Paris, Not France,” a movie being billed as a behind-the-scenes look at her life.
In order to build up some hype, Hilton has already canceled two advance screenings at the advice of her publicist. Her rep, Jason Moore, revealed, “We wanted to create more buzz, create some hype. We felt the impact would be more extreme if we had one screening. She is a partner with the documentary and will be attending Tuesday’s screening in support of it.”
Lindsay Lohan Hangs with Sam on “Ugly Betty” Set
Earlier this week she was missing her deejay girlfriend, who was in Australia on a gig. But yesterday (September 4), Lindsay Lohan was spotted enjoying Samantha Ronson’s company once again.
The “Mean Girl” actress was hard at work on the set of the hit comedy “Ugly Betty” on a New York City soundstage. The two rumored lovers sat together and chatted in between Lindsay’s scenes.
And it looks like LiLo is having a ball with her “Betty” gig, as she appeared to be in the best of moods while filming, whether she was walking arm-in-arm with star America Ferrera or just doing her own thing.
When she wasn’t busy working yesterday, Lindsay enjoyed the retail therapy opportunities of the SoHo district, stopping into Dean & Deluca and Estate Jewelry with a few gal pals.
Victoria Beckham Throws Romeo a B-day Bash
When your parents are David and Victoria Beckham, everything gets upgraded to the best of the best- and that includes birthday parties.
And yesterday Romeo James Beckham celebrated his sixth birthday (which was actually on Monday, September 1st) with the help of some of mom and dad’s celebrity friends.
Stars like Heidi Klum, Gavin Rossdale, and Geri Halliwell showed up at the Universal City Walk along with Gavin’s 2-year-old son Kingston and Geri’s 2-year-old daughter Bluebell.
The Beckham boys were all about the superhero motif, with Romeo arriving donned in full Batman attire, while his 3-year-old brother Cruz opted for the Power Ranger costume.
Even Klum’s 2-year-old son Henry dressed for the occasion, sporting a Buzz Lightyear getup while her daughter Leni seemed to prefer a princess outfit.
Paris Hilton is an MTV Girl
According to press reports, “the hotel heiress is the focus of the movie, billed as a behind-the-scenes look at her life.”
Hilton is planning on attending the premiere on Tuesday, but has canceled two advance screenings in an attempt to create “more hype.”
Her rep Jason Moore told Page Six, “We wanted to create more buzz, create some hype. We felt the impact would be more extreme if we had one screening. She is a partner with the documentary and will be attending Tuesday’s screening in support of it.”
