Perez Hilton sues Black Eyed Peas manager

LOS ANGELES – Perez Hilton struck back Wednesday with a civil lawsuit filed against the Black Eyed Peas manager accused of hitting him outside a Toronto nightclub.

The celebrity blogger, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, sued the Peas' road manager in Los Angeles for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is seeking unspecified damages of more than $25,000.

The suit states Hilton is seeking to protect his rights to free speech and claims Polo Molina attacked him because he made critical comments about the Black Eyed Peas' new album. Molina was arrested in Toronto early Monday after he allegedly punched Hilton following a heated argument between the blogger and Black Eyed Peas leader will.i.am.

An e-mail sent to the group's publicist was not immediately returned Wednesday. Molina is due to appear in court Aug. 5.

"Perez Hilton was assaulted by the band's road manager because he would not agree to stop writing about the Black Eyed Peas on his Web site Perezhilton.com," Bryan Freedman, Hilton's lawyer, said in a statement. "Whether you love Perez or hate him, he is entitled to his freedom of speech without fear of physical violence. This lawsuit will make the statement that violence is never the answer."

The lawsuit details the events leading up to Molina's alleged attack on the blogger.

The complaint states Black Eyed Peas vocalist Fergie approached Hilton on Saturday and asked why he was writing "mean" things about her and the group. Hilton replied that he was "simply being honest and truthful about his opinions of them," according to the lawsuit.

On Sunday, Hilton claims he was pushed by an unidentified member of the Black Eyed Peas' entourage, who "slammed his shoulder into Hilton's shoulder and thereafter pushed him."

The lawsuit claims Fergie again approached him at an afterparty for the MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday night and that his argument with will.i.am happened at another party. The lawsuit claims the blogger was trying to leave that party when Molina punched him at least three times.

"Lavandeira sustained injury to his eye and was bleeding as a result of this violent and malicious attack," the lawsuit claims.

His damage claims include medical costs and damages due to "humiliation, mental anguish, and emotional and physical distress." The lawsuit also claims that Molina is on probation in California for a drunken driving conviction under his real name, Liborio Molina.

Hilton, who is openly gay, said Monday that he called will.i.am a "faggot," a gay slur, inside the club after the musician told the blogger not to write about his band on his Web site.

He posted about the attack on the popular microblogging site Twitter on Monday, and has since rejected a call by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to apologize for using the term.

The Black Eyed Peas' newest album, "The E.N.D," has proved popular, ranking No. 1 on last week's Billboard magazine's charts for R&B/Hip-Hop albums. Singles from the album have also proved popular in other ranks.

Doing her best to continue along following her marriage’s unraveling, Kate Gosselin was spotted out in her yard in Reading, Pennsylvania on Wednesday (June 24).

Standing next to her new SUV, the “Jon and Kate Plus 8” mom looked comfortable casual in a summery patterned dress and cap as paparazzi snapped up shots.


The sighting comes just two days after Kate and now ex-husband Jon’s divorce announcement, which has led to a bit of mixed emotions.

Shia LaBeouf Likes Weed, Too

With his sure-to-be-hit movie “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” taking over theaters, Shia LaBeouf was spotted jetting out of LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Wednesday (June 24).

Kendra Wilkinson: Ready for a Nude Honeymoon

Never one to be camera shy, Kendra Wilkinson was hamming it up for photographer’s at the Reebok EasyTone Footwear Celebration in Beverly Hills last night (June 24).

The “Kendra” star rocked some Reebok shoes, along with blue shorts and a white top, showing no signs of a baby bump just yet.

Will.i.am-Perez Hilton Fight Captured on Video

Early this morning, an altercation between Perez Hilton and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas led to an arrest - and left both parties steamed and pointing fingers.

Well, a video of the incident that ended with an assault on Perez Hilton has now surfaced - and the blogger clearly be heard calling will.i.am a "f**king f*ggot."

The footage begins in the middle of the verbal altercation outside an after-party for the MuchMusic Awards in Toronto, Ontario. This is moments after Perez says will.i.am went after him like a "heat-seeking missile" and unleashed a verbal tirade.



With a crowd surrounding Perez, will.i.am and the Peas' manager Polo Molina, the guys argue back and forth for about a minute, until Perez tells will.i.am:

"You're not a f**king artist ... you're a f**king f*ggot!"

Classy. The scene suddenly turns chaotic - and in the mess someone punches Perez in the face. Polo Molina was arrested for the alleged assault, for which Hilton initially blamed will.i.am and said he was hit "two or three times."

will.i.am also posted a video blog saying he never hit anyone.

Usher Lands in NYC Amidst Divorce Drama

Carrying on his travel-intensive lifestyle, Usher was spotted arriving at JFK International Airport in New York City earlier today (June 16).

The “My Way” hitmaker appeared to be in a good mood as he moved through the terminal, warning a paparazzo to “look out” as he almost tripped over some baggage.


In related news, Usher’s marriage has been in question since this past February and last week his estranged wife Tameka Raymond’s lawyer began a preemptive strike to avoid allegations that she was unfaithful to the R&B crooner.

Attorney Randy Kessler told press, “She’s a great mom. She’s been a loyal wife. She’s trying her best to take the high road and not attack him.” Usher and Tameka, who have two kids together, have filed for divorce after two years of marriage.

Amy Winehouse: Worrying Her Mom

Still living the island life, Amy Winehouse popped out for a seaside stroll in St Lucia on Tuesday (June 16).

And though she seems to be doing better than when living in London, the Grammy-winning singer’s mother, Janis, is still worried sick about her daughter.


“The need to rescue her is enormous,” Mrs Winehouse said. “I just want her to be okay and I would do whatever it took to make that right.”

The “Rehab” crooner’s mom adds, “Amy is in denial all the time. She probably feels trapped, her body is trapping her. Usher Files For Divorce From His Wife Tameka Foster Raymond

R&B star Usher filed for divorce from his wife Tameka Foster Raymond on Friday, and sources report it’s because of another woman. Read more on Usher’s divorce below.

Usher Raymond IV filed divorce papers with the Superior Court in Atlanta, Georgia.

Usher, 30, and his wife Tameka, 38, were married in 2007 and have two children.

Sources report that friends and family are happy Usher is divorcing Tameka.

“He can’t dump Tameka fast enough. No one likes her. Since the day it became known he was dating Tameka, friends and family have been telling him she’s not right for him,” a source told Radaronline.

Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton, even boycotted Foster and Usher’s August 2007 wedding after Tameka wanted to have her fired as Usher’s manager.

“And Tameka threatened to ban her own mother from the ceremony because her mom had lost her false teeth,” says the insider.

That ceremony didn’t happen but the couple got married a week later at a lawyer’s office. But their marriage has been very rocky.

“Tameka was fighting to save the marriage,” our source says. Even recently, when the singer “traveled to Cleveland for basketball play-offs last month, Tameka followed him. You had the farcical situation of Tameka running around town trying to find him and Usher ordering friends not to tell her where he was staying.”

Confirming the rumors that he’d split from girlfriend Amber Rose, Kanye West told press via his spokesman that he’s a single man now.

The “Love Lockdown” rapper’s rep told the New York Post, “They are no longer a couple.” West and Rose had been an item since this past February.



And it sounds like both Kanye and Amber have been plenty busy as of late, at least according tot the rumor mill.

Kendra Wilkinson, 23, and Hank Baskett, 26, have been engaged since last November after Baskett proposed at the top of Seattle’s Space Needle.

There is quite a bit going on for Kendra, as her wedding is scheduled for June 27 at the Playboy Mansion. Kendra’s reality show also premiered on Sunday with huge ratings.

Kendra recently said in an interview that she wanted to start on her family soon.

“I plan on having them very soon,” Kendra said. “We want to be young parents and be able to chase around our kids and run and coach our kids. So, very soon.”
