Stand Up To Cancer Stars Take the Stage
Thirteen of the most talented female performers joined together onstage at Fashion Rocks to sing “Just Stand Up!”, which is the worldwide charity single benefiting Stand Up To Cancer.
The song was created and produced by LA Reid and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, who took the stage alongside singing sensations including: Beyonce Knowles, Mary J Blige, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Keyshia Cole, Leona Lewis, Fergie, Ciara, Mariah Carey, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield and Nicole Scherzinger at Radio City Music Hall on Friday (September 5).
With three networks - ABC, CBS and NBC - simultaneously airing the show, the night’s hosts include Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Jessica Alba, Charles Barkley and Halle Berry.
“For the first time we can envision the possibility of stopping cancer in its tracks,” the group said in its mission statement. “But just when science is on the verge of giving us the breakthroughs that can end cancer, the will and the funding to do so are disappearing from the national agenda and from our collective consciousness.”
“Stand Up to Cancer” is scheduled to air Friday on the three networks at 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT.
