Lil' Wayne Heads to Bahamas for Landmark Concert

Chart topper Lil' Wayne is preparing to party like a rockstar over a three-day weekend to celebrate his 26th birthday, with a landmark concert in the Bahamas.

The "Poppin’ Bottles" show will be co-headlined by international reggae legend Buju Banton and will feature a host of Bahamian talent, such as Daddy Whites, Golden Child, and Bobo Ken on September 26, according to AllHipHop.com.

The event is the brainchild of Lisa "Red" Tootle of Red City Entertainment, who promises to showcase a melting pot of the best in Hip-Hop, dancehall, and reggae talent in the U.S. and the Caribbean.

"This concert is quite a fusion. You have one of the leading phenomena of reggae in Buju Banton, who is a legend in his own right, and then you’re taking the number one Hip-Hop artist in the world right now and you’re putting them on the same stage," Tootle told the Nassau Guardian. "I think that in itself puts our concert above all others, and I say that with authority because I’ve been in and out of the Bahamas for the past 8 to 10 years and I’ve been to many, many concerts." The concert is planned to be an all night celebration, with Wayne not taking the stage until well past midnight. "Wayne is expected to be on stage by 1 or 2 a.m. and from what I understand Buju is just so excited about being a part of this show that he is expected to come out with a crazy performance," Tootle explained. "So it will be quite a night."

Wayne’s pre-party will be held September 25 at Club Erupt on Elizabeth Avenue. The "Poppin’ Bottles" concert starts Friday September 26 at 10 p.m., at the Bristol Wines and Spirits Grounds.

A separate "birthday bash" for the New Orleans superstar is set for September 27 at the Marley Resort in Cable Beach.

The Game and Other Hip-Hop Artists Speak On Barker/AM Tragedy

Hip-Hop recording artist The Game issued a statement exclusively to AllHipHop.com on Sunday regarding the tragic Friday night plane crash that critically injured former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM, born Adam Goldstein.

"I am deeply hurt by this tragedy. Travis Barker has always been there for me when I needed him creatively. We've done many songs together," The Game told AllHipHop.com. "Just recently he appeared in my video, "Dope Boyz," that he featured on. I respect and love him, my prayers are with him and his family in this difficult time for his speedy & complete recovery."

Barker has a long history of working with Hip-Hop artists, and has worked on Hip-Hop related projects himself, acting as drummer for a Hip-Hop inspired punk band, Transplant, whose second release Haunted Cities was screwed and chopped by Paul Wall.

Barker later formed a band called Expensive Taste with Paul Wall and he recently remixed the monster hit "Crank That" by artist Soulja Boy to critical acclaim, as well as another recent smash with Flo Rida's "Low," which was featured on hit video game "Guitar Hero".

Four people died in the crash, which happened as the popular musicians were taking off from the Columbia, South Carolina Metropolitan Airport in a Learjet 60, just before midnight on Friday, September 19.

They have been identified as pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills and co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad. Barker's assistant Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City, CA, and his security guard Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles, were also killed in the accident.

"It's so shocking and unexpected," Paul Wall told AllHipHop.com. "Travis and AM are such generous people. They would literally give you the shirt off their back. And Lil' Chris was such a great friend. He was down for life. I feel so bad for his wife and son that are going through such a hard time right now. Family is something very important to Travis and Chris; we all gotta pull together right now."

Barker and fellow crash survivor DJ AM are both currently in "critical but stable" condition in an Augusta, Georgia burn unit.

Both men are expected to recover, but could be remained hospitalized for weeks, according to doctors.

Miley Cyrus: Sticking With Hannah Montana

The Internet was flooded with reports recently that Miley Cyrus was doing her darndest to get thrown off her hit show “Hannah Montana.” And she’s finally come out saying that it’s all false.

The “7 Things” songstress told press, “I am fully committed to Hannah Montana. It’s what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people. I couldn’t do it alone. We have an amazing cast that is so supportive, including my dad who has been there for me every step of the way.”

And though there were rumors that she and her father Billy Ray Cyrus were intentionally showing up late to the set, an inside source says she’s actually quite punctual.

“Miley is really devoted to the show and she’s really upset by the gossip. Miley is never late to work. Every minute of her day is planned out. When she’s not shooting the movie or the series, she’s recording the [Hannah Montana] soundtrack. She has a lot invested in Hannah Montana. It’s not going away any time soon.”

Giving her fans hope in the new season, Miley revealed, “I’m really excited about our new season. We are making great new episodes that I can’t wait for our fans to see.”

Jonas Brothers: Rooftop Workday

Embarking on yet another project, Nick, Kevin, and Joe Jonas were spotted hard at work on their upcoming 3D movie yesterday in Los Angeles.

The Jonas Brothers looked to be having a blast as they filmed scenes, including running from screaming fans who chased them to a rooftop where a helicopter was waiting to aid in their escape.

And in the latest round of their “Ask Us Anything” blog project, the “Burnin’ Up” studs answered more fan-submitted questions this weekend.

They iterated that fame hasn’t really changed them, saying, “We are a whole lot more busy. We feel like we are the same people. For us it doesn’t matter how many opportunities come our way ... family is still most important. Staying grounded is also very important.”

As for their comparisons to the Beatles, they replied, “We definitely DO NOT compare ourselves to the Beatles. They are our idols. We look to them as a source of inspiration but we don’t think anyone will have the impact that the Beatles have had on music.”

Kim Kardashian: Nervous About DWTS

She’s been maintaining a rigorous rehearsal schedule for her big debut on “Dancing With the Stars.” And yesterday Kim Kardashian was spotted leaving the set for a good night’s rest.

The “Disaster Movie” babe was showing off her natural assets as she made her way to a waiting white SUV, sporting a white t-shirt along with a pair of blue-grey stretch pants and flip flops.

And Kim gave her fans an update on her DWTS progress yesterday and again today on her official blog.

She wrote, “Friday we did our first camera blocking, so we rehearsed on the stage for the first time in front of all the cameras, all the producers, some of the other dancers and crew. And for the first time, I feel like we didn’t know what we were doing!”

She continued, “I don’t know if it was because we were on stage for the first time, in front of so many people, or what, but I just felt scared. Mark keeps assuring me it’s normal to mess up the first time on stage rehearsal and feel nervous, but I was really surprised! We know the routines by heart! So we’ll continue to work and work and work …
”

Earlier this morning she enthused, “UPDATE!! Monday morning is here!! OMG!! Today is the day! I am getting ready to leave—I have to be on set by 7:50am! I am so excited and getting some butterflies in my stomach—so I will have a good breakfast and get to the stage and look forward to seeing Mark! I hope you all watch and love what we’ve worked so hard for! If you like what you see, please vote for us!!!”

Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson: Shopping and Lunch

Taking a break from their respective careers to spend time with each other, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were spotted enjoying a quiet afternoon together yesterday (September 21).

The “Mean Girls” actress and her celebrity deejay girlfriend were spotted meandering around West Hollywood, stopping into the Fred Segal boutique to comb the racks for some new duds.

After they’d satisfied their need for retail therapy, the ladies moved on to Genghis Cohen restaurant to grab some grub before heading out for more Sunday afternoon fun.

Earlier in the day, Miss Ronson was spotted out and about with her pet pooch, going for a stroll around her neighborhood.

Halle Berry’s Family Day at the Park

Taking full advantage of what was a beautiful last day of summer in Los Angeles, Halle Berry, her mother, and beautiful baby Nahla enjoyed their Sunday in the park.

Doing her best to juggle motherhood with her demanding career, Halle is currently said-to-be working on her new movie “Tulia”.

“Tulia" is based in Tulia, Texas, where “an attorney (Berry) works on behalf of a group of local black men who are wrongly convicted of their involvement in a drug ring.”

Halle also has a role in a film based on the true story of Tierney Cahill called “Class Act”, which is about “a Nevada school teacher enlisting the help of her sixth-grade students in her congressional campaign.”

Former Blink-182 drummer, popular DJ survive plane crash that killed 4

The crash of a Learjet in South Carolina that killed four Southern Californians stunned rock music fans Saturday with news that the two badly burned survivors are former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and popular DJ Adam Goldstein, both of Los Angeles.

Barker, 32, who not only played drums in the platinum-selling band but also starred in his own MTV reality show, and Goldstein, 35, known as DJ AM and the owner of the Hollywood hot spot LAX, were in critical but stable condition Saturday at Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga., said hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits.

The fiery crash shortly before midnight Friday in Columbia, S.C, killed Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City and Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles, both members of Barker's entourage.

Also killed were pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills and co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, Calif., according to the Lexington County coroner's office.

Still's aunt said a crowd of friends gathered throughout the day Saturday at their Riverside house as word of her nephew's death spread. "There are guys crying just like ladies would cry," Vacie Thomas said.

The small plane, en route to Van Nuys, was taking off at Columbia Metropolitan Airport when air traffic controllers saw sparks. Officials described what happened next as a "high-speed overrun."

The jet veered off the end of the runway, plowed through a perimeter fence and then crossed a roadway before slamming into a berm, where it became engulfed in a "significant fire," said Peter Knudson, a spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board.

The flight took off several hours after Barker and Goldstein's show Friday, which included performances by former Jane's Addiction singer Perry Ferrell and singer Gavin DeGraw. It had drawn about 10,000 people into the streets of the Five Points neighborhood near the University of South Carolina, Columbia Mayor Bob Coble told the Associated Press.

The plane was operated by Global Exec Aviation of Long Beach and was certified to operate last year, an NTSB official said.

A 10-member NTSB team walked the crash site and retrieved the cockpit voice recorder, which was rushed to a lab in Washington, D.C. Because of the ferocity of the fire, investigators were unsure of the viability of the recording.

Global Exec spokesman Mark Shafer declined to comment. He said the company is sending a management team to South Carolina to cooperate with the NTSB and Federal Aviation Administration. The company's website states that it caters to corporate clientele, including "many VIPS in the entertainment industry."

Relatives of co-pilot Bland gathered at the Redondo Beach home of his sister Laura Bland, who described her older brother as a veteran flier who began his career at age 17.

He logged 20 years of helicopter pilot duty for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and also spent time in the air for police departments in Santa Ana and Laguna Beach. A family man, Bland shared his Carlsbad home with his wife, Anne, 46, and 16-year-old daughter, Erin.

"He always said this could happen," Laura Bland said in a phone interview. "But of anybody we knew, he was just so conscientious that we didn't expect this at all. . . . When he was a little kid, my grandfather would take him to the Orange County airport and watch the planes take off, and he'd say, 'I'm going to do that someday!' "

Shafer declined to release information about pilot Lemmon, and her family could not be reached for comment.

The two passengers who died, Still and Baker, worked for rock star Barker. Still, nicknamed Che, was a longtime friend of Barker and sometimes worked as a bodyguard when the drummer performed in small shows.

Baker, nicknamed Lil' Chris, worked as a personal assistant to Barker and had appeared occasionally on MTV's "Meet the Barkers," the domestic-life reality show that followed the drummer, his wife and their children in 2005 and early 2006.

The 6-foot-5 Still, described by one friend as "a gentle giant," was a star football player at Centennial High School in Corona. He attended San Jose State before leaving his studies for two years when his father died.

Still was an imposing figure but also a doting son, who had taken his mother, Thelma Still, out to dinner last month for his late father's birthday. Still called before the plane took off to let her know he was flying home, his mother said.

"He was just loved and we walked and we would hold hands and we would do all the things," she said. "We were going to the fair this weekend."

Selena Gomez’s MAC Shopping Spree

Out enjoying herself on Saturday afternoon (September 20), Selena Gomez was spotted at the Beverly Center Mall for a midday shopping outing.

The “Wizards of Waverly Place” actress was accompanied by a gal pal, as the duo dropped by the MAC Cosmetics store so that Selena could stock up on her makeup supply.

Meanwhile, Miss Gomez recently ruled out any possibility of starring in a prequel to the hit HBO series “Sex and the City,” insisting that she’s too young to star in such a film.

With a prequel focusing on character Carrie Bradshaw’s High School years looking to be a sure thing, Gomez explained her situation, “That’s not really the audience I’m going for. I mean, my mom loves the show and it’s a very popular show, but that’s not the direction I’m looking to take at this time.”

Miley Cyrus: Drama on the “Hannah Montana” Set

Stepping out bright and early on Saturday morning (September 20), Disney star Miley Cyrus was spotted out getting some coffee at the Coffee Bean And Tea Leaf in Toluca Lake.

And though the 15-year-old singer/actress was nothing but smiles, breaking reports tell that Miley and her country singing father Billy Ray Cyrus are trying to get fired from their hit show “Hannah Montana”.

According to TMZ insiders, “Miley has bragged that she will get fired, making it clear she wants to focus on singing and not the show. For his part Billy Ray has also made it clear that there is more money in singing than a Disney cable show. As a result, the father-daughter team has been showing up to the set ridiculously late, stalling production and infuriating cast and crew.”

The on-set feuding is said to have caused tensions between Miley and her co-star Emily Osment, with Ms Osment’s father calling Billy Ray and Miley unprofessional.

Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson Pray For Crash Victims

Spotted out on an afternoon shopping spree, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson took a trip out to Fred Segal in West Hollywood, California yesterday (September 20).

Besides spending time combing the racks at trendy shops, the “Mean Girls” starlet and her deejay mate took time to pay tribute to Travis Barker and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein following a horrific plane crash that’s left them fighting for their lives.

Miss Lohan wrote on her MySpace page: “Please send your prayers out to Adam Goldstien (sic) and Travis Barker - along with the others lost in the plane crash… it’s so scary to think that life can end so fast… we must all treasure each and every moment - and be thankful for what we have.”

Adding her sympathies, Miss Ronson writes: “I can’t even imagine the pain their families must be in. Soooooo sad and I’m so sorry.”

Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson Rock the Roxy

Though she’s made her name as an actress and a singer, last night Lindsay Lohan was looking more like a groupie as she left the Roxy.

As it turns out, her girlfriend Samantha Ronson was performing a deejaying gig at the Los Angeles hot spot, and LiLo was just along for the ride to lend some moral support.

Both ladies were wearing matching tight leather trousers, with Sam sporting a black blazer and a black Guns n Roses t-shirt while Lindsay rocked a grey tank top and black cardigan.

Earlier in the day the ladies were spotted spending some time and money together at Maxfield’s on Melrose Avenue before meeting up with guy pal Patrick Aufdenkamp for lunch at a nearby deli.

Miss Ronson also suffered a bout of bad luck when her car got towed away from in front of her home while she and Lindsay were inside hanging out!

Travis Barker and DJ AM Injured in Plane Crash

In what comes as a saddening surprise, Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM) were onboard a Learjet that crashed while taking off from a South Carolina airport late last night (September 19).

According to reports, the crash was fatal - killing four people and critically injuring two others on the small aircraft. Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen told that air-traffic controllers saw sparks before the plane careened off the runway and crashed at a nearby road.

At this time, Barker and Goldstein are both said to be listed in critical condition at a burn clinic in Augusta, Georgia.

The identity of the deceased passengers is still unknown, although Barker and DJ AM performed earlier in the night with former Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell and Gavin DeGraw, drawing speculation that one or both may have been on the plane, as well.

Gwen Stefani’s Hotest Mom In L.A.

Leaving newborn baby Zuma safe and sound at home, Gwen Stefanii and hubby Gavin Rossdale had a lovely afternoon playing in Coldwater Park with their son Kingston on Friday (September 19).

According to a onlooker, “Gwen looked so happy, she just couldn’t stop hugging and kissing her little Kingston” - with the 2-year-old running around the park before the family hopped in their black Range Rover and drove away.

As for baby Zuma, Gavin recently took a moment to fill-in fans on his blog, writing, “(Zuma) is good, been having real good time adjusting.”

“Every day is some sort of adjustment to the day before,” he continues. “It’s been pretty busy on the home front, of course. There’s been visits and people and precious time.”

Jonas Brothers Team Up with Camilla Belle

Back in action, the Jonas Brothers were busy today (September 19) shooting their music video for the single “Lovebug” in San Pedro, California.

As a special treat, Nick, Joe and Kevin were joined by Camilla Belle - who makes a special guest appearance in the sure-to-be-hit music video.

Despite already having a full plate, to say the least, the Jonas Brothers have also just announced that they’ll be playing a special concert in Los Angeles on November 14th.

According to press reports, the gig will be paired up with the launch of American Eagle’s new children’s clothing line, 77Kids - also to be streamed live on the Internet two days later on 77kids.com.

“We got together with 77kids by American Eagle to put on a show for fans around the world,” Nick Jonas said of their announcement. “We like to think of it as an all-access video pass. We’ll see you in L.A. and online at 77kids.com!”
